Gwen Blake MA, Ed.S., LPC, MFT, CZT CCATP-CA, SAC

My work is to join you to growing your ability to move through your struggles with addiction, trauma, confidence and success; to help you find your hope as you heal from the things that have been so hard.

Helen Keller taught us that the best way to the other side is to go through; in this journey, I will support you in getting through the things that hold you back. I am committed to your emotional wellness, change, and healing in a way that allows you to work through difficulties in a positive way.

My hours have expanded to offer more convenience to you! Daytime hours are now available!

Experience

I have worked in the counseling field for 20+ years; working in community and private settings,  inpatient, outpatient, and partial hospitalization programs,  crisis intervention, and in agency, school and school based counseling.  Focusing strongly on addictions, trauma, and anxiety disorders, I am a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional - for children and adolescents. I am a relational therapist utilizing aspects of Gestalt, Cognitive Behavioral (including DBT), Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), Sand Tray, Psychodrama and Sociometry, Solution-Focused, and Family Systems therapies.

I love what I do....helping you find your hope; providing this healing place.  Bravo to you for these first steps.  What is holding you back from joining your journey?

I believe in building your skills:

As your therapist, I sit with you, listen with care, interest, empathy, and compassion.  I am present.  Together we work toward changing the things you can change, focusing on the here and now, and finding your strengths and abilities to effect that change.  For more than two decades, I have worked with individuals and their loved ones to help change destructive patterns such as addictions and it’s consequences on not only the one entrapped by a behavior or substance, but their loved ones. Addiction, mental illness, and emotional difficulties impact the whole family.

As a therapist, I am committed to my work with individuals, couples and families of all cultural backgrounds and sexual orientations.  Honoring individual differences, I offer you a counseling experience in an atmosphere where you will feel encouraged and welcomed.   Appointments may easily be made through the Client Portal.
